St.George was regarded as the martyred soldier of the Church, after he had reportedly won the battle of Antioch in 1099.

During the reign of Edward III he became the Patron Saint of England.

Later, in the 15th century Henry V ordered his soldiers to wear the red cross on their shields when they fought in France.

We are offering a reenactors' copy of such a shield in white colour with the red St.George's cross on it.

Shield dimensions:
64 cms.(25") x 44cms.(17.5")
weight : 1.8 kgs.(4 lbs.)

These shields are steel shields, with a detachable grip held by 2 screws and a strap to hold the shield under the elbow.A chain is added for those who want to display the shield as a medieval room decoration.

We send these shields dismantled to save a lot of extra packing, as shown on our bottom photo.
