We are selling a reproduction "Roman" cavalry face helmet for reenactors in original size.

This helmet fits the head quite nicely (it is 22.5 cms/9 inches long and 18 cms/7 inches wide).

It was handmade from 18 gauge brass plus the iron mask and weighs totally abt. 2.7 kgs (6 lbs.).

We copied this helmet from one found at Ribchester/Lancashire, where the Romans - in the first century AD.- ran an auxiliary castle named "bremetenacum veteranorum". Experts believe that this type of helmet -as it was heavily decorated- was for theatrical use and use in cavalry sports contests, but it could also have been used in battle. Who knows ?
