We have now available a hand crafted late gothic flanged mace (war hammer), German, circa 1500.
Head consisting of 8 steel flanges making it capable of inflicting heavy damage to medieval armour .Maces in this style have been used in Europe since circa 1200 and became very popular when knights started to wear strong armour in the 15th and 16th century.Our reproduction is overall abt. 60 cms.(2 ft.) long and weighs 1.1 kg (2.5 lbs.)It has a metal shaft with a wooden grip and brass screws on both ends.
This mace should not be used in ?combat?, we consider it as a decorative item only.
