This is a replica of the German army tropical helmet.
It was used since 1941, when the German Africa Corps (DAK) started to fight alongsidethe Italians in Northern Africa under their leader Rommel, nicknamed “desert fox.”.
We can only find one photo depicting himself wearing this helmet, and, sorry, we are not allowed to show it.
You can find it however via google with the search words Rommel + Tropenhelm.
Also, according to German law we are not allowed to sell items with a swastika on it, so we left it out on the insignia shield.
Complete insignia shields are available through internet suppliers.

The helmet weighs 300g (.7 lbs) as the original with an inner liner size of 60 to 61 cm /24".

A pair of goggles similar to the ones used by the DAK will be added free of charge.
