I am selling a reenactor's Celtic helmet of the 4th/3rd century BC in original size. This style of helmet with hinged cheek pieces was later on adapted to be used in Roman legions from about 100 A.D. till 400 A.D. You find the three circle decoration on the cheek pieces also on contemporary Samnite armour which we sometimes sell in a different auction.
The helmet fits a head with a circumference of up to 61 cms(24").
It was handmade from 18 gauge steel, and weighs abt. 1.3 kg (3 lbs.)
