This sun dial with compass is handmade from solid brass.It is a meticulously crafted reproduction of an original sun dial used on 18th century ships.
The original was made by WEST in London (engraved on the sun dial as on the original)-see last photo.
The sun dial diameter is 30 cms.(12")
The compass was needed to adjust the sun dial into the correct North - South position wherever the ship was.
